The book was a sample purchased by Mr. James Lees from Lawrence, he was to go door to door selling this book to everyday people. The inside cover page has hand written entry:
To: James Lees, Sept 18th 1894, he writes "Friends I don't Think". also dated 1896.

The booklet was the work of the Greater Lawrence Council of Churches, Inc.
