"March 23, 1936 - Break in the North Wall of the South Canal, caused by the flood. The break in the wall was about 2.5 feet deep and 15 feet long. The water swept around the house, thence into the Canal. Water reached an elevation of 46.75 as indicated by a mark near the end of the bridge."
