Description typed on accompanying document. "Photos of bed of Merimack River in vicinity of Central Bridge taken September 9, 1917, showing accumulation of material excavated for pier foundations, which was all left in the river with no attempt at removal. Also shows the general bed of the river. Shows the first Northerly span in river with accumulation of loose stone, gravel, and general accumulation left in river bed partly from pier excavation. No attempt was made to remove this."
