A ceramic beer stein that advertises Boehm's Cafe on Essex Street in Lawrence. The handle has a metal clip that indicates at one time the stein had a lid, which is now missing. The object is decorated with vines and a king seated on top of the middle label. One side reads: HOPFEN U. MALZ, GOTT ER=HAU'S. The center reads: COMPLIMENTS OF BOEHM'S CAFE ADOLPH G. BOEHM 78 - 84 ESSEX ST. LAWRENCE, MASS. DELMONICO OF LAWRENCE. The other side reads: GERST U. HOPFEN GIBT WUN=DERTROP=FEN. Embossed near the top rim of the object is: 1/2 L. GERMANY is embossed on the bottom.
