A wooden cigar box , trimmed by descriptive paper, large enough to hold one cigar. The box was given to guests attending a civic testimonial dinner for Rev. James T. O'Reilly, OSA at the Winter Garden on May 7, 1924. The dinner celebrated fifty years of Father O'Reilly's service.
The lid of the box, at the top edge, reads: 7-20-4 R.G.SULLIVAN'S 7-20-4
The edges of the box lid read : 7-20
The bottom of the lid reads: R.G.SULLIVAN 7-20-4 R.G. SULLIVAN
The middle of the lid, painted in black on natural wood color, reads:

The box bottom is decorated around the edges with : 7-20-4 R.G.SULLIVAN'S
The middle of the box bottom reads: R.G.SULLIVAN, MANUFACTURER
MANCHESTER, N.H.
The four box sides are decorated with the same logo 7-20-4 R.G SULLIVAN'S as the edges of top and bottom.
The inside of the box lid is decorated with the words : GOLDEN JUBILEE and the profile image of Rev. O'Reilly, OSA
The box itself is lined with brown paper with blue lettering reading :
7-20- 4 - HAND MADE R.G.SULLIVAN'S
No cigar is found in box.
The box is Lawrence related. Father O'Reilly, a member of the Augistinian order, was pastor at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Lawrence, MA.
According to the Lawrence Directory the Winter Garden was an amusement company at 330 Essex Street, Lawrence. The proprieters were John E. Tierney and Edward J. O 'Brien.
