A small round blue and gold pin with a clasp on the back for fastening. Around the circumference of the pin in gold lettering it reads : FOR PROGRESS IN WRITING . In the center of the pin is a monogram with the letters "P" over a "W". There are three gold stars at the bottom of the pin. The back of the pin reads : L. G. BALFOUR CO. ATTLEBORO, MASS. The pin was found with several other items in the Essex Company buildings complex and was donated by the Immigrant City Archives.
