In raised letters it reads : A.G.BOEHM - LAWRENCE, MASS. - 78 ESSEX ST. - REGISTERED - THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD. The stopper reads in red letters: BOEHM'S * LAWRENCE, MASS * 78 - 84 ESSEX ST. Adolph Boehm was an importer and a bottler. He sold Rhine wines, liquor, ale, porter, lager, and beer and was an agent for Anheuser Hinckel and Cold Spring lager. The cafe was located at 78, 82, and 84 Essex Street, Lawrence, Mass. An advertisement in the Lawrence directory of 1914 lists Matthes and Boehm as proprietors.
