Bottle

A tapered, clear glass bottle with a metal and porcelain stopper. In red and black lettering the stopper reads : CURRAN & JOYCE CO. LAWRENCE, MASS. It has the symbol of the company in the center - a " C " and " J " with a " CO. " The raised lettering on the bottle reads : REGISTERED - CURRAN & JOYCE - COMPANY - LAWRENCE, MASS. In the center of the lettering is the company's symbol. It has a large "C" with a large "J" across it and the "&" in the center of the "C". At the opening of the "C" is a smaller "C" with and even smaller "O" in the opening. O" There is also a hand-written, red and white, label that reads in script : QUINCE & APPLE JUICE 1942. Curran and Joyce, an importer and a wholesale liquor dealer and bottler, was established in 1877 and was located at 433 to 443 Common Street in Lawrence. The donor was James P. Dowd of Lawrence.
