A white ceramic plate decorated with a gold band around the rim of the plate. A narrower gold band surrounds the center. In the center is an image of a young woman standing by the head of a horse. Around the image of the woman are calendar pages for the year 1910. At the bottom of the plate, in a box, it reads : COMPLIMENTS OPPENHEIM'S BRANCH 389 ESSEX ST. LAWRENCE. There are no identifying marks on the back of the plate. There are two holes to be used to hang the plate calendar. The city directory of 1910 lists David M. Oppenheim, clothing, at 389 Essex Street. .His home is listed at 102 Auburn Street. The donor of the item is Jay Emmert of the Lawrence Arts Lottery Council.
