This is a coin collection of Irish coins. The coins are placed in a coin booklet. The cover of the booklet is gold, black and white and the title reads : IRELAND'S DECIMAL COINS. The back cover is gold colored and blank.
Inside the booklet are 6 different coins, each encased in plastic, and identified by description, denomination, dimensions, date of issue. All coins are round with the exception of the 50P which is heptagonal.
The six coins included are following : New Halfpenny ( 1/2P); Five New Pence ( 5P); New Penny (1P); Ten New Pence (10P); Two New Pence (2P); Fifty New Pence (50P). The coins were issued in 1971. These coins were introduced as Ireland changed to the decimal system in February of 1971. Images impressed on the coins include the harp, the bull, the salmon, the woodcock.
