A large, round, brown glass bottle with a paper label and blue foil around the neck of the bottle. The stopper or cork is missing. The paper label has a large stain on it and an image of the American flag crossed with the flag of Spain. There is an image of a royal crown above the flags and a shield in the center of the flags. The label reads : WILLIAMS & HUMBERT - JEREZ SPAIN - LONDON DOCK PORT - CURRAN & JOYCE CO. - LAWRENCE, MASS. There are no other markings on the bottle. Curran and Joyce Company was established in 1877 and they were wholesale liquor and wine importers, brewers and bottlers. They also manufactured orange and lemon sodas, cream soda, sarsaparilla and Nerve Food ( Moxie), ginger ale and high grade tonics. They were located at 433 - 443 Common Street in Lawrence.
