A round, salt-glazed stoneware jug with no stopper or cap. It has a handle placed close to the neck of the jug. The front of the jug has impressed wording, in cobalt blue wash, that reads : CURRAN & JOYCE

There are minor chips near the neck of the jug. Walter Huebner is the donor.
Curran and Joyce are listed in the 1889 directory as distributors of wholesale liquors and manufacturers of beer, soda, ginger ale and bottlers of the best brands of lager. They were located at 433 - 437 Common Street, Lawrence. ( ad p 491)
