A ceremonial ribbon of the Scottish Clan McPherson. The object was purchased by Eartha Dengler at a Farmer's Market along with fifteen other items. The ribbon has several parts. The top of the ribbon is a metal pin which is decorated white enamel, edges in silver-colored metal. In the center is an emblem of red, green and white. The center of the emblem is a shield with a lion. Atop the shield is the letter B. Beneath the shield are the letters : O.S.C. On either side of the shield are thistles. The back side of the pin is copper colored and has a stick pin closure. Beneath the pin is a short, 2.5 inch, navy ribbon The ribbon reads : WARDER, with silver trim above and beneath the word. At the bottom of the navy ribbon is a sequin and metal star with a metal tassel hanging from the tip. Beneath the navy ribbon is a 7 inch, red, yellow and navy plaid ribbon that reads : CLAN McPHERSON NO.80 O.S.C LAWRENCE, MASS. The bottom of the plaid piece is trimmed in 2 inch metal fringe On the back of the plaid ribbon is manufacturing information but part of the text has been removed and the accession number label is stuck to another part. It appears that the Whitehead and Hoag Company maker of badges, ribbons and other similar items, manufactured this ribbon.
