Title
Plans and Drawings of Merrimack River
Sub-series contains architectural drawings and plans principally of the Merrimack River and watersheds, but also contains significant materials depicting the Spicket and Shawsheen rivers, as well as lesser waterways. Materials dated between 1846 and 1970 are present, with most being from 1860-1930. Drawings that indicate flowage, contours, soundings, sections, and slopes are included, as are water level plottings. The drawings and plans by far primarily deal with the Merrimack River as if passes through the Lawrence area, but some renderings exist as far down as its mouth in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and as far up as Concord, New Hampshire.
notes: It should be noted that approximately 25% of the materials in this sub-series are undated.
