Correspondence re: Democratic State Convention and US Senate Race, 1962.
Correspondence pertaining to the nomination of Edward F. ( Ted) Kennedy for U.S. Senator. Two letters. First letter, typed on yellow paper is from Robert V. O'Sullivan to Mr. Edward F. Kennedy; dated April 26, 1962. The letter states: " Mayor John J. Buckley has asked me to advise you of our canvass and frank, factual opinion as to the present indications of how the delegates to the Democratic State Convention will vote on the nomination for U.S. Senator."The letter then gives each ward, delegate from that ward and opinion on their vote. In addition there are comments on personal connections, suggestions for how to relate to certain delegates.
Second letter, really a note, dated April 28, 1962. It reads: " Ted Mayor Buckley and I are pleased to report that Bart Barry - delegate from Methuen - has committed himself to vote for you at the convention. Yours, Vin O'Sullivan."
