Plans and Drawings of Dam
Sub-series contains architectural drawings and plans related to the Lawrence Dam built by the Essex Company on the Merrimack River between 1845 and 1848. Included are drawings and plans dating from 1845 to 1949, with much material being undated. Materials present include original designs and sketches made by Charles S. Storrow, as well as construction and excavation drawings. Included are site plans, elevations, cross sections, construction details, and plans of the north and south wing walls. Also present are drawings of the coffer dam, booms, and fishway designs.
notes: It should be noted that approximately 50% of the materials in this sub-series are undated.
