Photocopy of news article about Strike 1912 and the God and Country Parade. The article rebuts the negative impression of Lawrence and describes it as a good city..." good to live in, good to do business in and good to work in." The parade of October 12, 1912 is described as a a protest against the parade of September 29,1912, allegedly sponsored by the IWW and carrying banners that read, " No God, No Master." The parade of October 12, 1912 saluted the American flag and the paraders numbered 32,000. text of speeches given on October 12, 1912 are included in the article. They include Hon. Samuel J. Elder, US representative at the Hague conference; Charles A. DeCourcey, Justice of the Supreme Court - both natives of Lawrence, MA. " Inspiring messages" sent by William Cardinal O'Connell,Archbishop of Boston; Bishop William Lawrence, Episcopal Bishop of Diocese of Massachusetts; and the Mayor John F. Fitzgerald, City of Boston are included.
