This series contains 3 books. The first book is the treasurer's account book of the Lyceum from September 1901 through December 1939. The entries cover itemized Income and Expenses. The book was audited at the conclusion of each calendar year with the auditors signature and date. At the back of the book is a list of 35 baptisms with the individual's name, date and place of birth, date of baptism, and church officiant. The second book is titled "Annual meetings of Lyceum." It is dated from December 1925 through January 1944. This book has minutes of the Lyceum meetings, lists of officers, teachers, Conductors, general business and finances. The third book is a published volume called "The Lyceum Officers' Manual." The book was compiled by Emma Hardinge Britten, Alfred Kitson, and H.A. Kersey and published in 1921 and reprinted in 1926. The publisher was The British Spiritualists' Lyceum Union of Lancashire, England. The purpose of the book is to "be helpful to those who require guidance in forming and carrying on Lyceums for the education of mankind." The book has 15 sections that include the following: Order of Lyceum session; A.J.Davis' Manual; Aim of Group Lessons; Hints to Group Leaders; Naming Service; Marriage Service; Internment Service; Calisthenic Exercises; Marching Exercises; Silver Chain Recitation; Golden Chain Recitations; Musical Readings; Lyceum Songs; Official Constitution for Lyceums; Index of Songs and Readings.

admin: The Lyceum is the Sunday School unit of the Spiritualist Church. Progressive Lyceums shall have a Conductor, a Guardian of Groups, a Leader for each Group, a Captain of Guards, a Musical Director, a Librarian, a Secretary, a Treasurer and other Guards if needed. A book called "The Lyceum Officers' Manual" lists the Declaration of Principles and is a lesson plan for the various age groups and ceremonies within the Lyceum. The A.J. Davis Manual which is found in the Lyceum Officers' manual refers to Andrew Jackson Davis, a prophet of Harmonial Philosophy, had a central leadership role in the Spiritualist movement. He articulated a comprehensive worldview incorporating spirit manifestations, reform principles, and an anti-Calvinist theology into a single system. ( Braude)
