Diary, 1882 - 1960 belonging to Harrison Newhall Arthur. Diary includes family birth and death dates . Mr Arthur was a textile worker in Lawrence working at both the Everett Mills and Pacific Mills. In 1906 he went to work at the B.M. Co. of Waltham. He had a sister Carrie and he was married to Martha Eliza Grace Wainwright in 1899. The diary lists events that happened both in Lawrence ( old LHS fire, Congregational Church fire, Strike 1912) as well as the country ( San Francisco earthquake, elections, Armistice Day) . The diary if full of personal events, travels, and significant purchases such as his Hamilton watch and his first car. The diary entries are brief, not detailed and certainly cover a large expanse of time. The diary is regular up to 1929. The last entry is on November 22, 1960. There are 115 numbered pages.
