Written from Dayton , Ohio about 1880 while on a visit to Hortense Marsh, the mother's aunt. . the letter was given to Harrison Arthur by his sister, Carrie, on July 11, 1923. The letter describes her visit to Ohio and mentions " Little Harry" , her ill health, the weather and other familial topics. Carrie is the mother of Harrison Arthur. Carrie died on July 12, 1883 of abcesses of the womb after the birth of her daughter, Carrie.
