Folder Pamphlet “Constitution and By-Laws of the Social Union, Class of ’71 of the Lawrence High School”. This association was formed by the Lawrence High School Class of 1871 “for the preservation and promotion of a feeling of good will, mutual improvement, and interest in each other’s welfare”. Folder Program “Exhibition, Lawrence High School, Friday, June 30, 1871”. This program lists the order of exercises for the Lawrence High School Class of 1871. (1998.077.051)

 Folder Program “Exhibition, Lawrence High School, Friday, June 28, 1872”. This program lists the order of exercises for the Lawrence High School Class of 1872.

 Folder Excerpt “Superintendent’s Report 1886-1887”. This excerpt describes the schoolhouses in use in the city for the years 1850-1851 and states that at the close of the fourth municipal year “there were seventeen distinct schools under the care of twenty-five teachers and having an attendance of 1470 scholars”.

This program lists the order of exercises and a list of graduates for the Lawrence High School Class of 1889. Folder Photograph “Lawrence High School Class of 1897 Reunion 1912”. This photograph portrays female members of the Class of 1897 posing in front of the residence of Rose Edith (Dawson) Barker, a member of the class. The address of the home is 173 Prospect St., Lawrence, Mass.

Folder Booklet “Exercises at the Laying of the Corner Stone of the High School Building in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Before a Gathering of Citizens on Lawrence Common, June 17th, 1899, with Historical Sketch”. This booklet contains an Explanatory Preface; Prayer by Rev. William E. Wolcott; Opening Address by Honorable James H. Eaton, Mayor; Address by J.E. Burke, Superintendent of Lawrence Schools; Address by James D. Horne, Principal of Lawrence High School; Historical Sketch of the Lawrence High School by Robert H. Tewksbury, Esq.; Singing the National Hymn " America by the Audience; Address and benediction by Rev. James T. O'Reilly. Of note is the description of a time capsule “a box, in which were sealed important documents, current publications and articles of historic interest, was sealed in the stone…”. (3) (2000.000.009) Included in the folder is a newspaper article “New Temple of Education/Corner Stone of Lawrence High School Building Laid”, a rendering of the Lawrence High School building dated June 17, 1899 and a current photograph of Lawrence High School. 

Folder Booklet “Lawrence High School Class of Nineteen Hundred One: Our Class Record, A Souvenir of the Reunion of the Class on the Fifty-Fifth Anniversary of It’s Graduation from the Lawrence High School, June Twenty-first, Nineteen fifty-six”. This typewritten booklet was compiled by Mary J. Conway and Ada B. Locke and consists of personal histories along with names and addresses of members of the Class of 1901. (1995.207.035)

Folder “Lawrence Alumni Association”. Letter; Envelopes; Dance Cards (2) This folder contains a letter (1998.054.045-1) from the Lawrence High School Alumni Association, dated June 20, 1904, written to “Dear Alumnus” as a fund-raising request for retiring Lawrence High School teacher Mary A. Newell. The letter is signed by Edward M. Carney. There are two accompanying envelopes. The first envelope (1998.054.045-2) is addressed to Anna E. Field/North Andover depot/Mass and is postmarked Lawrence/June 23, 1904. The second envelope is addressed to Mr. Albert I. Couch, Treasurer of Essex Savings Bank, Lawrence, Mass. (1998.054.045-3) The first dance card is titled “Twenty-Fourth Annual Reception…Class of 1902”, dated June 26, 1902 (1998.054.041) A pink tassel and pencil are attached. The second dance card is titled “Lawrence Evening High School Alumni Association Reception to Class of 1904” dated April 6, 1904 (1998.054.042).

Folder Newspaper Article “Helen Mank, 90, well-known LHS ex-teacher, dies” Lawrence Eagle Tribune, April 23, 1980, along with a short biography of Helen Gardner Mank. 

Folder Program “Sixty-first Anniversary of the Lawrence High School” Class of 1912. This program lists the order of exercises and a list of graduates for the Lawrence High School Class of 1912. The program contains a handwritten name, “Emma Milner 1912”. (1994.224.018) 

Folder Newspaper Article “Largest Class Ever Graduated from the Evening High School” from Lawrence Daily dated March 22, 1912. Among the photographs in the article is that of Zelma Jordan, a class essayist. 

Folder Newspaper “The Alumnus 1852 – 1912” Lawrence, Mass., June 26, 1912. This newspaper was the initial issue of the Lawrence High School Alumni Association.

This booklet consists of descriptions of the three types of programs offered by Lawrence High School: college preparatory, normal school and general course along with the accompanying lists of courses. Requirements for diplomas and graduation are listed. The name “Francis Morgan” is written on the cover. (1994.002.053)

Folder Pamphlet “Courses of Study and Requirements for Promotion and Graduation, Lawrence Evening High School, 1919-1920”. This pamphlet lists the course of study and graduation and promotion requirements for the Lawrence Evening High School. 

Folder Literary Magazine “Lawrence Evening High School Curfew 1919, Volume Two”. This magazine, published by Lawrence Evening High School students, contains several black and white photographs, student essays, newsy items pertaining to students, statistical data such as “Places where our students are employed” and several local advertisements. 

 Folder Program “Lawrence High School Banquet by the Graduating Class of 1920”. This program lists the Dance Programme, Menu and lists of class officers, banquet committee and speakers. (2012.032) 

Folder Newspaper Article “Growth of the Lawrence High School”. Lawrence Telegram, February 15, 1921. This article was written on the eve of an anticipated seizure of land adjacent to Lawrence High School to make way for the construction of an addition to the High School. The history of the school and several prominent names are featured in the article. (3 copies) 

Folder “Who’s Who of ’22 LHS, 50 Years 1922-1972”. This is a list of LHS 1922 graduates, containing brief histories and current addresses of the alumnae. (4) (1998.122.018, 1998.122.019, 1999.010.021, 1999.010.022) Included in the folder is ticket for the Class of 1922 50th Class Reunion (1999.010.012), an invitation to the 50th Class Reunion which includes a name tag with the name Eva Lachapelle Provencal and a letter to alumnae pertaining to the plans for a 60th class reunion slated for June, 1982.
