Lawrence Centennial Woodnen Nickle
Lawrence City Centennial 1953 Wooden Nickel. The wooden nickel is a first series issued over June 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th. The bottom has a 1938 copyright. The back declares, "This Wooden Certificate is issued as a unique souvenir by the Lawrence Centennial Committee, Inc. Unbroken, it will be accepted in trade by Lawrence merchants and business men and is redeemable in cash, if desired, at all Lawrence Banks on or before 8:00 P.M. June 11, 1953."
