Apart of a series of photos from the Asia in Lawrence Exhibit from 1996, curated by Janet H. Howell, and photographed by Loel A. Poor, this image shows Theresa Chun, an immigrant from Korea. Theresa Chun gave a statement about what it's like living in Lawrence. Underneath her photo the statement is printed, she said, "So many people never been outside New England. So they don't know another culture. And my children was young/they come home crying, Mom they teasing me 'small eye' and 'slant nose' and 'you're Chinese' and I just feel- so many times I was upset." Theresa Chun moved with her husband for educational purposes. Her husband works in medicine, and Theresa is an artist.
