This book is a reprinted edition of the autobiography of Harriet Hanson Robinson who, in 1835 at the age of ten and until her 23rd year of age, worked in the cotton mills in Lowell. Included in this narrative is a description of the Lowell Offering, a magazine depicting factory life, along with brief biographies of several of the woman who wrote for it.
