Elizabeth Gurley Flynn was a leader, activist, and feminist during the early to mid-twentieth century. She was a member of the Industrial Workers of the World, a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union, and also a member of the Communist Party in the United States. While visiting the Soviet Union in the mid-1960s she died. Helen C. Camp, author of this biography, goes into detail on the life of Flynn and her political involvement in the United States and the Soviet Union. Flynn's role in the children's exodus during the Lawrence Strike of 1912 is written about, in addition to general information about the Strike of 1912.
