Erik Loomis is an associate professor of history at the University of Rhode Island, and he is also an author as well as a journalist. In "A History of America in Ten Strikes," Loomis covers the Lowell Mill Girls strike in the 1830s, the Bread and Roses strike, slaves on strike, and several others. The overall goal of Loomis in this work is to show the importance of the history of labor strikes and how that history can help us today.
