Frank J. Kefferstan, D.O. Eyeglass Case with Glasses and Business Card
A thin brown fabric or plastic eyeglass case lined with brown velvet holding a pair of pince-nez glasses and a business card inside. Pince-nez glasses do not have sides or arms and instead balance the lenses on the nose to stay on. This pair has a thin gold metal frame and clear glass lenses with four small hooks on the corners. The business card reads "Hours: 9-11A., 2-5 P.M. Evenings by appointment only." in the top left corner, "Dial 6783 for appointment" in the top right corner, "ASSOCIATED WITH DR. D.H. CASWELL REG. OPTOMETRIST" in the bottom left corner, 519 ESSEX ST. LAWRENCE, MASS." in the bottom right corner, and "FRANK J. KEFFERSTAN, D.O. REGISTERED OPTOMETRIST" in the center. The glasses are 4" wide and the case is 5.5" wide. Frank J. Kefferstan graduated from the Massachusetts College of Optometry, advertised in the November 1, 1935 issue of The Andover Townsman and the 1946 Lawerence High School Blue and White Yearbook, and was included in a 1954 copy of The Blue Book of Optometrists. He lived at 115 Haverhill Street with his wife Gertrude D. in Andover, Massachusetts.
