A large silver-plated trophy engraved with "Gerwidemet dem Bayrischer Lese und Fortschritts Verein Lawrence von dem Bayrischen K. U. Vereins Boston 1890 [-] 1915" in cursive. The engraving is in German and translates to "Dedicated to the Bavarian Reading and Progressive Society Lawrence by the Bavarian K.U. Association Boston 1890 [-] 1915". The trophy features two large handles with a wing or feather detail and a footed base. Underneath is marked with "SMITH. PATTERSON CO. 0319 12" which was a Boston silver company. M.N. Smith and Henry Winthrop Patterson founded the company in 1885, operating until 1956, also becoming part of the Jordan Marsh department stores. The trophy is 12" (13.75" including the handles) tall by 8" (12.75" including the handles) wide at the opening with a 5.5" wide base. The trophy was donated by Ruth Lang.

There are a few light dents and some scratching at the tops of the handles, as well as a few scattered around the rim, base, and all over. The silver is tarnished and some plating is missing from the inside.
