This is a biography, with the full title of “Echoes of my past” (One man’s journey through life), written by a man named John Doyle that catalogues his life in Lawrence. The book seems to be self-published, and contains stories about how John overcame homelessness and alcoholism to later get his graduate degree at S.N.H.U and become the director of a substance abuse program at a private psychiatric hospital. The book seems to have been written solely by him, but in his dedications he mentions a few friends and collaborators that proofread his work and helped him publish. The book overall seems like an engaging and uplifting read considering its subject, especially for Lawrence citizens, as John points out landmarks and street names that would be all too familiar for any resident of the city.
