This is a Massachusetts Women’s Defense Corps. Handbook repurposed to be a scrapbook dealing with the subject of the Women’s Defense Corps. The book contains a small Women’s Defense Corps. Association regional information book, an envelope containing photos of the creator of the book during her time with the 4th Region of the Corps. and over half a dozen issues of the Massachusetts Women’s Defense Corps. Newsletter, Parade Rest. The rest of the book is a collection of pages taken from several Defense Corps. Handbooks and other loose Corps. Documents that detail rules and regulations of the Corps. These rules include things like how to treat severe burns and gunshot wounds, how to load a military vehicle, how to correspond with higher-ups in the Corps. and what precautions to keep in mind during an air raid. The compiler of this book, Margaret F. Spooner, also has a few notes and even a poem she added to the book to detail her experience with these regulations and the Corps. in general.
