Title
“Cold Spring Brewing Company” Diary owned by A. Morgan
Title (generic)
Scrapbook
This is a diary for the year 1903 once owned by one A. Morgan, who lived on 32 Haverhill Street. This diary is unique in that it is a small, black rectangular book, almost shaped like a ledger would typically be, and it was sponsored and given out to Lawrence citizens by “The Cold Spring Brewing Company”. This diary, aside from the normal blank pages expected for each day in the year, also contains a few pages courtesy of the Brewing Company, which make the book more multi-purpose. A map of the world, a calendar, a checking book to catalogue purchases and even the City of Lawrence’s census report for that year in 1903. The blank pages used by A. Morgan to describe his daily duties are actually outnumbered by these extraneous pages, making this less of a diary and more of a novelty book at its core.
