This book is a comprehensive survey of the history of nursing from its' origins in ancient times up to the late 1920's, the date of publication. Many biographies and illustrations are included. The flyleaf page bears an inscription: "M Maloney/Student Nurse/St John's Hospital 1932". This book was the property of Mary Maloney while a student nurse at St. John's Nursing School. Ms. Maloney, a Lawrence, MA resident, went on to work as a nurse at Clover Hill Hospital until its closure and then continued her career at Bon Secours/Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
