A black and white photograph of the Atlantic Mill taken from the Canal Street side of the mill. The mill steeple and building are shown. A worker - 'steeplejack' is identified on the back of the photograph - is attached to the steeple by ropes and appears to be repairing the façade. A second man is sitting in an open window below the worker, and appears to be wearing a straw hat. It is warm weather as neither man is wearing a coat, and several windows in the building are open. A second smaller building is connected to the mill building and has the shape of a house. There are iron fences between the buildings and the water. A small deck is shown and part of the Canal Street bridge. Several street lamps that appear to be from the late 19th century are shown by the bridge.
