A black and white photograph showing women at the mending tables. There are lights over the tables and some have the tabletops in an upright position, apparently for working on textiles much like an artist paints. There are skylights in the ceiling along the entire workfloor. Many flags are hung along the ceiling - there are 48 stars on the flags. Textiles are heaped on the floor throughout the work area.
The words: Mamie, Washington Mill, around 1900" are written on the bottom border of the photograph.
