A black and white photograph of a young woman sitting at a machine making or finishing a dowel. There is a bin of 'finished' dowels beside her, and a bin of 'unfinished' dowels in front of her. There is a large canvas back of dowels on the floor. She is sitting on a stool that has a backrest, and her feet are elevated on a footstool. She is wearing a dress, and her hair is well styled. Her clothes, shoes and hairstyle appear to be from the 1920's.
