A color photograph of the section of the mill known as a 'penstock'. From Wikipedia: A penstock is a sluice or gate or intake structure that controls water flow, or an enclosed pipe that delivers water to hydro turbines and sewerage systems. The term is inherited from the earlier technology of mill ponds and watermills.
While the area is old and somewhat rusted, you can see cast iron pipes, and a structure that appears to be a holding area for liquid.
