Recent historical research about women in the workforce has always focused on women in industry. Little attention was paid to women in clerical positions. This book attempts to show how women have played an important part in the clerical and retail positions. There is also a chapter on Black Workers & White Workers and the Birth Control Movement in the 1960's.
