Subtitle
Lawrence, Massachusetts 1845-1921
The violence and radicalism connected with the 1912 strike left the impression that Lawrence was a slum-ridden city inhabited by un-American revolutionaries. This book is a study of Lawrence which reveals that Lawrence was very different. The population was almost all immigrants at that time.
