Accession No.

Painting by Mary Armitage.
Caption on edge of frame indicates address is "234 Haverhill Street, Lawrence, MA. Early 1900s. Home owned by Timothy O'Hearn."

Painting of house with snow falling and snow on the ground. One woman is at top of front staircase at front door holding purse. Standing in front of house to left of staircase are two other women. All are wearing long coats and hats, carrying purses. Scene appears to be around dusk, with darker blue sky and windows of the house are lit. Windows and front door all have holiday wreaths, Christmas tree partially visible in one of front windows. Railing around house. Tree at left edge of painting.

Signed at the bottom left corner of the painting is "ARMITAge" with 'g' written as the Greek symbol 'Φ - Phi'. Painting is not dated, however it does have a date of 28 Jun 1988 stamped on rear lower edge of frame. Also, on the left edge of the frame is marked "P.76" probably indicating the number of the painting. Ornate wooden and canvas frame - painted white.
