Back row: third woman from the left is Ruth Bent. She was born in Methuen on December 22, 1925 to Isabelle Schofield Bent and Robert George Bent who emigrated from Yorkshire England. They had three other children, Norman Bent, Christina Bent Witts and Barbara Bent Furnari. Ruth served in the Waves during WWII. After the war, Ruth married Wilfred McAvoy and lived in Methuen. They eventually moved to Stevens Street in North Andover where they raised three daughters Gail, Cynthia and Judy.
