Summary: The narrator went from kindergarten to the eight grade at HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL, graduating in 1953. He reads from a letter which he wrote to the TRIBUNE describing the names of significant ITALIANS who are part of their heritage (for example, Gallileo and Verdi - they are carved on the facade). He played in the Common at recess and served as an altar boy. The Sisters of Notre Dame, who were not Italian, taught them; consequently, there wasn't much of an Italian influence in their academics. However, the students were all Italian.
