Memories of a Happy Life
The life diary of Bishop Lawrence. He was Rector of Grace Church in Lawrence, Mass for 7 years, from 1871 to 1875. He was the grandson of Samuel Lawrence, founder of the city of Lawrence along with his sons. He talks about his boyhood growing up in Boston as well as his assignments over the course of his life, through WWI and the years after the war, 1919-1926. There are a few pages about his concern for the prevalent drinking in Lawrence.
