Because of our vibrant academic and community network, we are able to bring people together (e.g. scholars, graduate, undergraduate, and high school students, local historians, practitioners, etc.) to present research, art, music, and exhibitions around specific subject areas. We endeavor to host symposiums every two to three years.

2024: "The History and Evolution of Education in Lawrence and Similar Communities"
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, Lawrence History Center hosted its 6th community symposium since 2012, "The History and Evolution of Education in Lawrence and Similar Communities." One hundred four registrants and twenty six presenters and moderators gathered for a day-long event in the YDO-Youth Development Organization's 6th floor space in the Everett Mill.
The opening keynote address, Textured Teaching in These Times, was presented by Lorena Germán, Co-Founder and Academic Director at Multicultural Classroom and was one of nine sessions.

2021: "Public Safety in Lawrence, Massachusetts"
In May 2021, we held a virtual symposium on public safety in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

We had 130 registrants and 39 presenters and moderators. The keynote address, From the Politics of Safety to Equal Protection for All, was presented by Johanna Fernández, Associate Professor, Department of History, Baruch College, City University of New York. The keynote was one of 11 sessions that were recorded and made available at HERE.
