This photograph shows the rear of the restaurant known as the Chicken Shack which sits at the intersection of Merrimack and So. Canal Street. This restaurant was a small eatery which catered mainly to take-out business. It later was destroyed by fire. The Ayer Mill which houses the New Balance manufacturing company is visible beyond Chicken Shack. A large billboard atop the restaurant is advertising the Air National Guard.
