This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings about various productions at the Lawrence Opera House from 1905. These productions include 'Isle of Spice', 'Mr Wix of Wickham', and 'Way Down East'. Most of the clippings are photos of scenes from the plays. Also, a good many of the clippings are advertisements for plays and productions at the Opera House. One interesting advertisement is dated Friday January 6, 1905 which gives the price range for tickets for the "Isle of Spice'. The prices range from 25 cents to one dollar and fifty cents. Besides plays, comedians performed at the Opera House. An advertisement depicting an image of Henry Brown, a noted comedian at the turn of the twentieth century, indicates that he performed at the Opera House on Saturday September 16, 1905. Actors of note from abroad performed at the Opera House as well. Kyrle Bellew, a popular English actor performed at the Opera House. The scrapbook contains numerous photos of him from local Lawrence newspapers.

The front cover is removed from the rest of the book. Many pages are also loose and not attached to the spine. The pages are brittle and tear with use. The newspaper clippings are in good condition, although the print on some of them is beginning to fade.
