Scrapbook containing newspaper articles about the Lawrence High School Football Team
Accession No.

This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings of photograph and articles of Lawrence High School Football Team for the 1940 and 1941 seasons. The photographs show scenes from football games and pictures of team members. The games played are between the Lawrence football team and other local Massachusetts towns including Lowell, Haverhill, and Newton. An interesting article is about Johnny Broaca, a Lawrence native who was a pitcher for the New York Yankees from 1934-1937. He was bought by the Cleveland Indians in 1937 and remained with them until 1939.

Condition
Good

This scrapbook does not show too many signs of wear. The book itself is a binder with plastic folders containing the newspaper clippings. Thus, the clippings have been well-preserved. However, some of the plastic sleeves have ripped exposing the articles. Also, many of the newspaper articles have begun to show discoloration.
