This cookbook is an accumulation of recipes of immigrants from various countries who have come to America to settle. There is an introduction by the author and a poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson dedicated to the author's mother. The recipes are broken down by various countries and a story by an immigrant is told at the beginning of each segment. The cover of this publication is a hard vinyl with a spiral spine which makes it easy to read while the book can lie flat. On the back cover is a picture of of a husband and wife and their two small children sitting on a bench eating some food. Underneath the picture is a caption that reads: "Their First Thanksgiving Dinner - Castle Garden in Battery Park, 1884"
