This object is a wooden spool that was used in textile manufacturing. Thread was spun around it and stored until the material was used to make fabric. The spool has a wooden rod connecting to flat pieces of circular wood. These flat circular pieces would have been where the spool attached to the rest of the machinery. The flat pieces on the ends have metal around the rims, as well as in the center.
