This edition of Textile Research begins with an announcement of a conference which was held on November 14, 1940 at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City to discuss various research within the textile industry. The bulk of this edition comprises five studies; "Effect of Light and Heat on Color and Deterioration of Viscose, Acetate,and Cuprammonium Rayon Fabrics", "Controls for the Size Box", "Reaction of Silk Fibroin with Diazomethane", "Factors Influencing Flocculation and Precipitation. Theory and Variables", and "Surface per Gram of Cotton Fibres as a Measure of Fibre Fineness". At the end of the periodical is a list of abstracts of studies published in Textile Research earlier in 1940.
