Book

This Committee was formed to investigate activities within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which the Commonwealth deems subversive. The President of the Senate appointed three members of the Senate, the Speaker of the House appointed five members of the House and three members were appointed by the Governor. All members met for the first time in the State House on June 15, 1937. Regular and extended meeting were held throughout the duration of its existence. The conclusions reached at the end of the Hearing found that many Communist organizations were active in the State. The committee warned that Communism is "spreading rapidly in the State." No witnesses presented any facts of any Fascist activity within the borders of this State. This Report is a soft-cover edition which appears to be in good condition.
